What happens if the weather turns on Lake Como
The skipper decides whether to call the day off. A day called off is re-planned to another day or hour at no cost, or refunded in full if that does not suit.

A day the skipper calls off moves at no cost, so a forecast is no reason to wait. See the half day →
If the weather turns, the skipper decides whether the day goes ahead. A day he calls off moves to another day or hour at no cost. If that does not suit you, what you have paid comes back in full. That is the rule when you book direct with the operator I part-own, and it is the same for the sunset, the half day and the full day.
Who makes the call
The person who would take the boat out makes it. A poor forecast on your phone does not move the day, and the skipper’s call does. The skipper makes that call on the day. If rain alone would change your plans, ask me in the same message as the date.
What comes back
Booked direct, the operator has usually taken only the deposit before the day, so the deposit is what comes back. A booking platform takes the whole amount when you book, and its own terms decide the refund: read the ones on the booking you hold. How you pay sets out both.
If you want to move it yourself
That is the ordinary case, and it runs on the notice periods in how far ahead you need to book. Before the 24-hour mark, a booked date moves with notice. When the week looks unsettled, write early.
Common questions
What if it rains on the day?
A day the skipper calls off for weather moves to another day or hour at no cost, or the payment comes back in full. Whether the weather is bad enough is the skipper's call.
Can it be moved to another day?
Yes. A day the skipper calls off moves at no cost. A date you move yourself follows the ordinary notice, set out in the guide on how far ahead you need to book.
Who decides, and what happens to the money?
The skipper decides. If the new day does not work for you, what you have paid comes back in full. Booked direct, that is usually the deposit, because only the deposit is collected before the day. On a platform booking, the platform's own terms apply.
