A six-hour booking leaves the boat nothing free on either side, which is why those dates shut first. The hours that stay open longest are also the quieter ones on the water.
If your plans change
Booked direct on my boats, cancelling is free until 48 hours before. Between 48 and 24 hours you lose the deposit, and on the day the full amount is due. The large booking platforms usually publish free cancellation up to 24 hours. Read the terms of the booking you hold.

Often yes, and asking is worth it. Write, and I look at tomorrow and answer, usually within minutes during the Italian day.

Moving a date costs nothing up to 24 hours before. Inside that window it counts as a cancellation, so it is worth asking early even if you are not certain yet.
What time do you prefer?

Is it cheaper to book late?
No. The price does not move with the season or with how close you are to the date. What changes with lateness is only what is still free.
