Lake Como with kids, on the water

Children are welcome aboard, with life jackets in their sizes. A child costs nothing extra: the price is for the boat.

With children aboard the hours matter more than the number, and the half day is the one I would pick. See the half day →

Yes, children are welcome on a private boat here, and there are life jackets in their sizes. A child costs nothing extra, because the price is for the boat: two adults with two kids pay what two adults pay.

What to tell me

Count everyone aboard, toddlers included. Most boats here take six, and the boat is chosen from that count. Add the ages: they are how the right jackets get on the boat before you step aboard.

The hours

Small children have a shorter day in them than the lake does. Which part of the day you are out matters more than how long, so send the ages with the date and I suggest the hours.

One exception: I advise against coming aboard in the last months of pregnancy, because a boat moves even on a calm day.

Common questions

What are the boat options for two adults and two kids?

Any boat that takes four, and most here take six. The price is per boat, so the kids change nothing on the bill.

Do teenagers count as adults?

Count everyone aboard, whatever the ages: say five if you are five, and add the ages. That is how the right boat and the right jackets end up under you.

Is a private boat safe for small children?

Children come aboard regularly, and there are life jackets in their sizes. Tell me their ages, and I pick the hours around them.
